Business Spotlight: Flavin, Nooney and Person CPA

When I am not photographing families and babies, I capture head shots for businesses. In today's ever changing world. the internet has become the go to place for first impressions. This is where the clients first research you and look you up. How you appear on the internet can make or break you. So businesses need to stay on top of this as part of the operating model. I know I am constantly checking my own website to make sure it is updated.

Once of the ways most business clients can do this is by having professional head shots taken as well as location and office shots. This will set you a part by having quality images for you clients to preview. I know I hate going somewhere and not knowing what the building looks like. So it is great to include this on your google info page as well as you own homepage.

Cocoa Beach Maternity Session {Brevard County Materntiy Photographer}

It's a small world after all. Did you just sing that as you read it? I totally did while I typed it. haha. Somethings are just like that I guess. Well it really is a small world.

Kristen contacted me to document her maternity and newborn sessions....patiently waiting for baby to come as we speak. We talked and planned and she made mention she was referred by Rachel (THANK YOU RACHEL). And I thanked her for listening to her friend's advice. The day came when it was time for her session and just like the last few posts, the rain had other plans so we rescheduled.

We met at Cocoa Beach pier. I was greeted by her and her husband and two sweet boys. I like to know about the people I am working with. I like to ask questions and get to know you and your kids. I think it makes it easier to work with each other and to just be more personable. Plus after being in a customer service roll for so long, it comes naturally to me.

As we talked little light bulbs started to go off in my head. Turns out Joey, the dad to be grew up with my husband. Like lived a few streets away! And a wedding we attending a few years ago, they were both there! Crazy right!

One of the things I loved about this session is that while it seems like a lot of chaos, there was so much beauty captured. Once again, mom to be ended up loving wearing the maternity gowns I offer. Why because pregnancy is beautiful. Pregnancy is amazing. Pregnancy is special. Wearing these gowns allows you to just feel all of this and when you see the pictures it puts it all into perspective despite how you feel while pregnant. We captured that beauty along with the life of two boys (soon to be 3) and the love of it all.

Carter's First Fall {Palm Bay Children's Photographer}

If anyone has lived here any length of time they know that the weather we have had this time of year is just insane. Yes it rains in Florida and yes it rains a lot BUT it never rains like this in October....As a photographer this is super stressful. Let me be real. The amount of rain that has fallen has created havoc on sessions. First hoping the rain doesn't show up the day of the session. Second hoping the rain has not ruined the area you were planning on taking the photos due to flooding. And lastly, bugs! The mosquitoes are on steroids right now. They are huge and everywhere. There is no escaping them.

So when Carter's mom Casey reached out to book his fall session I thought for sure the rain and craziness would have been done. I was wrong. The day of the session we were pounded with more rain. And it wasn't stopping. So normally we would have to reschedule and go from there. BUT thanks to my new studio space we were able to do the entire fall session right there. I brought in the bales of hay, with the pumpkins and the fall foliage. It was a perfect little set up...right in my studio! How cool is that?! I thought it was cool, mom and dad were actually happier being inside and Calvin loved the Hay too. (warning if you have a toddler don't bring hay into your home)

So mom also had the idea of painting his little butt to look like a pumpkin. So stinking cute. The things we do to our kids. (no worries it was non toxic paint).

This having a studio thing is going to be super awesome for situations like this. Not all will work out but when they do, that makes for happy clients and happy photographer. :)

Family Session at the Park {Brevard County Family Photographer}

If you have followed me for some time now, you may know that I am the event photographer for the March of Dimes Space Coast Division. I have been with them for 3 years now and I get the pleasure of working with them to help reach their goals and capture a fun event. They have two events every year, the March for Babies event and the Signature Chef night. The March is the 5k walk and the chef night is their big event to raise money for the March of Dimes to aid their cause of healthy babies!

For the longest time I didn't know anything about March of Dimes until I started working with them. The thing the spend a lot of focus on is premature babies, but did you know almost every baby is a March of Dimes baby even if they never spent a day in the NICU? That is because of their research they have discovered that mothers who take folic acid during their pregnancy and their prenatals have a better chance at a healthier pregnancy. Not to mention they also have discovered that a baby born to term is actually more developed. And no many believe term to be 40 weeks versus the 36 weeks. So these are remarkable findings for everyone!

During the Chef night they have silent and live auctions to help raise money. I have the privilege of donating to this each year with a photo package. Dr. Tobia, a huge supporter of the March of Dimes and his wife, Colleen; happened to bid on the package from last year. When Colleen contacted me to schedule her session I was excited to meet them. During these functions I see everyone but don't always get to know them. While planning her session, Colleen expressed that having 4 kids all under the age of 6, it would be easier to just be themselves for the session. She wanted them all to pick out their own clothes, and to just make it a relaxed session. I LOVE that so much. Many times we get caught up in the "Picture Perfect" photo that we miss the fun expressions our kids make. So we did a little pose and a lot of fun to make their session complete. I love the choices of outfits and loved getting to know this family.

Baby on the Way {Palm Bay Maternity Session}

I met this sweet family a few weeks ago to document this momma's pregnancy as they await for his arrival. Millasent contacted me with a few weeks left of her maternity and we were able to make our schedules work to capture this special time. We picked out a date and location and felt good to go...Then the weather went crazy. You know when it rained every. single. day. for a week straight?!? So the day before the session, I went to scout the planned location and it was not the same as usual due to the rain. The water level was so high the rocks and the "beach" were gone. I was confident we would still have nice pictures even though the location didn't look as planned. I am so glad they trusted my judgement. The rain also held off the day of the session too. Everything came together beautifully.

When I met them the day of the session, I got to meet their sweet little boy Marcus. I was so excited to see him use sign language. I have taught my own son several signs and Marcus is about the same age as Calvin so it was super neat to see another little boy doing the signs too. While he may not know exactly what was going on he was super excited that day too. And big sister was such a huge help keeping him entertained. She already rocks as a big sister and I know she will do great when the next one joins them.

Once we got the family shots, we took a moment to focus on mom and dad. I love that moms always feel beautiful when I put them in these gowns. It is out of the comfort zone for many, but once they see the images they always confess how much they love the images. Pregnancy is a beautiful season of life. You are carrying life inside you, a baby is growing, and you are glowing. It truly is a magical time for you. And this mom was no different she was stunning!
