Meet Baby Kennedy (Brevard County Newborn Photographer}

Have I ever mentioned I love referrals? Well I do. It is probably one of the best ways you can tell me that you love me and my work by referring me to your friends and family. Of course coming back for more sessions is another great way too. ;) Lindsay was referred to me by a longtime friend/extended cousin Taylor. Lindsay reached out to me when she was pregnant and expecting her little girl. She wanted to take advantage of the full newborn session I offer to capture not only her sweet new baby girl but also family shots too.

Once sweet Kennedy arrived we worked out the best day to make her session happen. Daddy had to return to work so we worked around his schedule so he didn't miss out. Miss Kennedy is a beautiful little girl. We started the session off great. She loved being swaddled and slept like a dream. We knocked out all of the family shots which included mom, dad, brother, grandma and aunt! So we were doing great. Then it was time for just Kennedy only shots. And well she was not having it. Most babies don't always like the idea of being naked or in just their diaper, so I swaddled her up in hope she would fall back asleep. She never did. She kept her eye on me and just want not content. She wasn't crying but we also weren't getting the poses mom was hoping for. So I always follow babies lead. They are in charge. And we decided it would be best for me to come back and try again. I am so glad we did that. We ended up getting all the good shots and she did great.

One of the things I always advocate when looking for a newborn photographer is to make sure they are trained to handle your little one. That they put the baby and the baby's safety first. No shot or session is worth any risk to your sweet baby. I have been to several hands on workshops, gone through CPR training, online training and worked with dozens of newborns. Newborn photography is an art and we always want them safe and happy. Kennedy was not happy so we listened to her clue and followed her lead. It was the best decision ever and the photos show that. If you are expecting or know anyone who is please reach out to me. I would love to speak with you about documenting this special time for your little one and capturing this moment.

Meet Dr. Wolk and Hibiscus Women's Care LLC {Brevard County Photographer}

Over the past couple of months I have been working with Natrina, the amazing office manager at Hibiscus Women's Care LLC in Melbourne. I reached out to Natrina to market Trisha Harris Photography in their waiting room. She was so kind to talk with me and work with me. One of the things she wanted for the office was to have some updated shot of the staff and also one of their patients to be featured as well. So we worked together to make this happen.

I worked with sweet Wyatt and his family for the patient portion back in April. He was such a sweet little boy and his parents were so great to allow us to work with them to use for marketing purposes. You can read that blog again here.

Then we worked together to get the staff photos up to date. When looking at their website their staff photos were all jumbled and of poor quality. There was no consistency with the style of photos and that can really hurt a website. So I set up a studio in their waiting area on their early day. We took staff photos of everyone and even got a group shot in. We also took some shots of the office and location. When you are running a busy office like theirs, sometimes the website gets put on the back burner. So I am glad we were able to work together to move towards getting this updated.

Dr. Wolk and his team were wonderful to work with. (he also delivered my baby).  Dr. Wolk has been in practice for over 20 years and practicing women's health care here in Melbourne for the last 10 years. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrician and Gynecologist and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologist.  Dr. Wolk and his team cover a vast amount of women's health related services to include: pregnancy test, genetic screening, pregnancies, postpartum care, in house ultrasounds, in office blood draw, VBACs, deliveries, well women exams, endometriosis, fibroids and much more.

In addition, Dr. Wolk has Nurse Practitioner Antoinette Ferry, ARNP as part of his team. She received her nursing degree from the University of Central Fl in 2004. After graduation she began her career in Labor and Delivery which fueled her passion for Women's health. She later returned to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is  a great part of the team.

You can find Dr. Wolk and his staff on Hibiscus blvd. in Melbourne Fl. You will not only love the location and office, but you will also love the friendly staff! Be sure to look for a few of our items next time you are in there.

Custom Orders {Brevard County Photographer}

We live in a digital age that makes everything instant! Right at our fingertips. We hate waiting for anything, we want it fast. I am guilty of this. If my computer takes two extra seconds to do something I am yelling at Justin for him to come make it faster! Do you relate?

Well in the photography world this affects the way images are presented nowadays. Long ago they had to develop the film and then process the film and then print the image. A whole lot of steps for one image. Now we shoot hundreds of images on a mini little card, upload it and Ta-da we can see it. We can edit it and post a preview in minutes from snapping the picture. Which in some instances is awesome. But when you are investing in quality photography, you should also invest in quality prints. No one buys a Porsche and puts cheap tires on it right?! So why pay a photographer who has a 20 megapixel camera to capture a moment for you to view on a 3in cell phone screen?! Doesn't make sense right?

I didn't think it did either. I have always loved photos. I used to scrapbook...you know cut and paste photo albums. I have a kid. I don't have time for that LOL so I do digital scrapbooks (less mess and time and prints beautifully). So I value what pictures look like in print. I also love to hang photos on my wall. I feel family should decorate our walls not emptiness. So when I thought about how I wanted to market myself as a photographer, I decided to go the old school way and offer custom prints and orders to my clients. WHY? Because you deserve the option to have high quality prints and albums to preserve your investment. And yes I still offer digital files with EVERY order option. I get it we all want digital...we want it on our facebook wall, we feel a sense of safety because we have the digital file etc.

So here are a few custom orders I have recently filled for my clients. I love that my clients believe in me and the products I offer and love them as much as I do!

Wedding under the Oaks {Brevard County Wedding Photographer}

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of capturing Angie and Steve's wedding. It was a beautiful small ceremony surrounded by their friends and loved ones. They were married under the oaks at the Courtyard at the Oaks. If you have not been to this venue, I suggest checking it out for your wedding needs.

Angie and I used to work at the bank together. I had the privilege of capture their sweet daughter's newborn photos too. So I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to capture their wedding day. While I promote family, newborn, couple and maternity photography, I also capture weddings. These are usually smaller scaled weddings and I only take on a few a year to ensure you get the attention you need from me. I like to think of myself as YOUR photographer meeting all of your NEEDS. So while some say I should pin myself into one "style" of photography, I enjoy meeting all of your needs from I love you to I do, from bump to baby and every special moment in between. Just like for Angie and Steve.

Their wedding day was such a beautiful day too. We had great weather and everything went perfectly. Their venue hosted the ceremony and the reception which made it nice for guests a like to not have to travel around. We had a nice amount of time reserved for Angie and Steve's bridal portrait session that we were able to capture some amazing shots. If you don't know, The Courtyard at the Oaks is in the same shopping center as the movie theater. So naturally one would think there is no where to get nice pictures because it's a parking lot. Oh but that is where I come in. ;) It is a great location with lots of little gems to create beautiful images.

The reception was indoors and was nice too. The location provided a nice dancing area. I learned the groom who has some pretty good karaoke skills also has some pretty good line dancing skills. It was a fun wedding surrounded by their friends and family.
