A rainbow of hope {brevard county maternity photographer}

I have known Nikki since elementary school. It is always neat to see how people from the past drift back into our lives. We lost touch after elementary for several reason, she did a home school stint and I went to West Shore for a year. So just life made us loose touch. Then we both ended up working for Suntrust Bank. She would meet her husband Jeff there too. Three years ago they were living in Dallas, TX and expecting their first child. They returned home for their shower and I had the privilege of capturing that time for them. They have since moved back to this area and Nikki gets to stay home with Greyson while Jeff is still in banking.

Their first pregnancy was a dream. They had no issues getting pregnant and no problems during pregnancy. It was picture perfect. Then they decided to add to their family. Only this time it would not be as easy as before. Nikki would be classified as having secondary infertility. This is when you are unable to get pregnant or carry a pregnancy to term after the birth or one or more children conceived without fertility treatments. This would become a very trying time for their family. Nikki ended up having two miscarriages, one of them being multiples.

Infertility is never easy for anyone, and is especially confusing when you don't have any answers as to why and when you've already had a perfect pregnancy before. They were hopeful and with doctors care they didn't give up. In a few weeks they will welcome their rainbow baby of hope into their arms. A rainbow baby is a baby that comes after a miscarry, still birth or infancy loss. The rainbow baby terms is the symbol of hope. After a storm a rainbow appears, so true after the storm of life, the baby is their rainbow of hope!

As Nikki and I began to plan her session we knew we wanted to do something to make it special. Being as this was a special pregnancy for them with so much excitement we incorporated the rainbow theme into their session. Nikki made the adorable headband and then we use some fun colored powder to throw in excitement. I love the way this entire session came out. I cannot wait to meet their sweet Layla and snuggle her. She is already one loved little girl!
