Newborn photos....All you need to know. {Brevard County Newborn Photographer}

So I wanted to talk about newborn photos for a couple of reasons. Today is April 2020 and we are in the middle of a "Stay at home" Order due to a pandemic from the Corona Virus. (just incase you are reading this at a much later time). The order is to basically only leave your house for essentials and that any non essential job must close down. Guess what is not an essential...photos. Do I agree? Not exactly but I will comply.

So the concern for a lot of moms is what about my newborn photos. Of course this is all out of my hands so I want to give you some hope. You see in the ideal world we like to do newborns around the two week mark. Every photographer is different and some say 7 days others 12 days some say not past 21 etc.but we all agree that two weeks is pretty ideal. This allows us to get the BEST results with almost every pose we know how to do. Your baby is still very womb like and sleeps a lot. I find around two weeks moms are finally out of the cloud from delivery and babies start to get feedings more routine. (not always the case but typically)

But what if the world is not ideal...then what? Well even when it is ideal, some babies have been photographed outside this ideal window for other reasons....early birth (preemies) complications after birth (NICU Stay) Adoptions, various health issues for mom and baby etc. So even when the world is normal we always make exceptions because the health of both mom and baby are most important. If your baby is safe to come home, they are safe to photograph but some babies have extended stays.

So my point is that babies can be photographed long after the two week mark. In fact I have done babies up to 8 weeks old and accomplished beautiful photos for moms to love and cherish. Yes some poses are not possible. Yes they may be more alert. Yes they may be a little bigger. The point is to give you hope that when this passes we can still capture your baby and create memories for you to hold on to.

Here are some babies we have captured past the two week mark who are just as adorable as ever. <3
