Meet Baby Brecken {brevard County Newborn Photographer}

When I first started the blogging part of my business I will admit I didn't think I would like it. But then I learned this was my chance to tell a story with my photos. To share your story with the world! And let me tell you some of the stories are pretty amazing!!!

So  back in May, I had the pleasure of working with the Roark family as they captured Megan's pregnancy and their last family portraits as a family of four. You can see that blog post here. They were anticipating the arrival of sweet Brecken.

Some say each one gets easier, I think for myself the next one will be more stressful. I feel my first pregnancy was like a "honeymoon" and then afterwards I really learned about all the things that could happen or scary stuff others have dealt with. My first I was just ecstatic to be pregnant I really didn't have time to think about anything but the joy.

Megan and Chris was so excited to have another baby, and then suddenly their world was changed. During routine visits, they began to notice some things with the baby. Megan was to follow up with specialist and the word abort was actually used several times!!! What? How is this even possible?! Fortunately, Megan has some really great friends in her life one being a dear friend of mine as well, Aran Hissam- founder of the Brianna Marie Foundation. Megan reached out to Aran to help calm her mind about all the information she was being told about her sweet baby growing in her belly. Aran, raises money through her organization to help with Fetal Medicine and advancements. That is raising money for babies in utero before they even take their first breath!! Amazing right!? With Aran's experience she was able to help Megan prepare for Dr. visits and ask the right questions to put her mind at ease and know exactly what was going on with her sweet baby.

At 18 weeks Brecken was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 also known as Down's Syndrome. Fortunately when he made his appearance into the world on May14th, 2017 weighing a healthy 8lbs 3oz and 20.5inches long; some of the other concerns and challenges were no longer concerns. He proved to be pretty healthy. He struggled with life outside the womb and eating so he ended up staying in the NICU for 38 days! He started with a feeding tube and then later had a G-tube added. His mama worked hard pumping round the clock to provide her sweet baby with the nutrients he needed most. He continued to progress and finally got to go home.

I got to snuggle with him at 7 weeks old! He was a whopping 11lbs by this point. I loved every inch of him too! He was so sweet and snugly. I am so glad I am able to provide these special memories for his mama to hold on to and cherish forever. Brecken continues to do great and growing stronger and stronger each day. While they still have some obstacles to deal with, he is a healthy baby! His brothers love him so much and I know they are itching to play in the dirt with him!

*** Most newborn sessions are held within the first two weeks of life...however your baby will not be refused for a session if they are older than this time frame. Baby Brecken was 7 weeks at his session and he posed just fine. Please don't let this hinder you from having newborn images of your sweet baby.

Meet Baby Mason {Brevard County Photographer}

Chelsea and Justin contacted me when they were expecting Mason after a friend had some family pictures captured with me. We discussed what Chelsea was looking for and she ultimate decided on the Maternity Newborn Combo I offer. If you recall I captured their maternity session a month or so ago. You can see that blog here.

Well Mason finally made his debut into the world...Chelsea did such a great job having to push him for over two hours! I was so excited when I found out he was here. In fact, I was getting a little worried when I didn't hear anything around his "due" date so I reached out and got the best text ever...a picture of sweet mason swaddled in the hospital wrap. He was here!

Once they were home and settled in we had the newborn session right in the living room. In case you didn't know, I do a lot of my newborn sessions in your home. This helps new parents out a lot. They don't have to leave the house with the baby and mom and dad can enjoy some down time while I am posing the baby. Dad's have been known to nap and moms love being able to shower and do their hair and makeup.

Mom specifically requested the fox hat, which is one of my favorites anyway. We even added some of his nursery toys to the session. We did a full newborn session with baby poses, prop poses and family poses. I am so happy for this new family! <3

Meet sawyer {Brevard County Newborn Photographer}

A couple weeks ago I got to snuggle with sweet little Sawyer. He was such a dream to work with. I know I say this about all babies, but seriously aren't all babies a dream? It's why I honestly love my job because it is sooo rewarding to work with so many amazing clients, snuggle sweet babies and provide timeless memories.

Sawyer's mom had been following my page for a while when she booked her session. I always love to hear how people discover me and every once in awhile someone will just stumble upon my work.

Nicole and her husband are both teachers in Brevard County. So when the time came to pick a name for their baby they looked no further than classics. Sawyer Atticus! Such a strong classic name. I just loved it. So naturally we included some pics with the story of Tom Sawyer. How could we not?

Madison Grayce: A story of Hope {Brevard County Newborn Photographer}

This is one of the most touching sessions I have done to date. You may want to get some tissues before you sit down and read this.

Meet George and Megan. I met Megan at West Shore JR/SR High School in the 9th grade back in 2000....over 17 years ago. We had mutual friends and hung out a lot. I left the school the following year and she eventually moved to Japan since she was military. There she met George who was also a military family. They left Japan and landed back in Fl and their relationship blossomed and they wed. As many young couples, they dreamed of a family. They longed for it, but once they began to get serious they realized this dream was going to be a little harder for them.

Megan and George underwent the IVF process three times to try and conceive with no success. Those of you that have gone through this process know the struggle the faced here. Between the shots, the stress, the hormones, the financial strain and the glimmer of hope taken after each failed attempt, they never let go of their dream to have a family. As friends, I just saw a small glimmer of their struggle.

Since IVF did not work, they began to look for other alternatives for having a family. They looked into foster care and even adopting through foster care. Then they began to work with an agency to adopt. Last year they finished the last leg of the process. Again, like IVF, adopting is another process that takes a huge toll of you. But this past March they finally got a call. There was a mother expecting a child in Tampa and wanted to interview them. As Megan recalls it was the biggest interview of her life.

They were chosen and super excited to finally welcome a baby into their hearts and home. Their family was about to be complete. I will never forget when I read the message from Megan about newborn photos for their soon to be little girl. I was so excited for her. Having struggled to conceive myself, I knew the joy she must have felt to have her prayers answered. Their little girl was due in May.

Unfortunately due to some health risks the mother had, Madison Grayce came 9 weeks early. At 31 weeks 5 days Madison was delivered safely weighing a hefty 2lbs 11oz! A tiny miracle with a long road ahead. George and Megan finally had their little girl but they would still have to wait until Madison was healthy and strong to be released. They spend 29 days in NICU over in Tampa. Thankfully the Ronald Mcdonald house allowed them to stay there to avoid commuting. They were able to bond with their baby and watch her grow strong. Once she reached 4lbs she was able to go home.

When I went to their home, there were so many waves of emotion that filled their house. Happiness and joy just beamed from their faces as they looked at their sweet girl and held her. She was their ray of hope. She was their miracle. As Megan said: She is the answer to our 10 year wait...definitely work the wait! I couldn't agree more with that. I am so thankful to have been a part of this special time and to document sweet Madison. She is so precious and loved. It brings me so much joy knowing my work is providing them memories they will certainly cherish forever. This is a memory they will never forget. Congrats Megan and George, Madison is precious!!!
