I had the pleasure of capturing Hailey and Jesse's maternity session last month. It almost didn't happen if you recall. You can view that session here. Well baby Jesse wanted to keep the tradition going with timing and waited until after his due date to make an appearance.
When I spoke to Hailey about what she wanted for the session she basically let me have my say. She was easy going. Sometimes that is great for me or hard. In this case it was super easy. Having a little boy there are less options to worry about. Also big Jesse likes to fish so I was able to create the cutest little fishing theme set up. The one thing that Hailey did want was family images. She knew it would be done at her grandmas house and would want those family members present captured too. I love that we spent time to do this. We were able to capture multiple generations, great grandparents holding baby Jesse and we even got the dog in one!
When I conduct your consult conversation, either by phone or in person, I always like to know what you want captured. These are going to be your images. You will want to hang them in your home, display them for others to see and pass them down for generations. I will guide you along the way of what is best, but ultimately I always like to know what you want.
Baby Jesse is one loved little boy. I truly love this session. <3

Meet Baby Owen {brevard county photographer}
I can't tell you how much joy it brings me to not only photograph babies and people in general but to tell amazing stories with these photographs. This one is no different. We really do have an awesome God that gives us what we need at just the right time.
Katie and Eric were high school sweethearts. They moved to FL from Texas, got married and built a life. They've done a lot. Built their home, graduated college, built a business, sold the business, and followed God's calling. All the while, wanting to have children and become a family. Like many, Katie was on birth control. Once they decided, 6 years ago that it was time to began family planning, she came off the birth control. Only to discover her body was in fight or flight mode. She ended up going into a state of menopause and never had her period return. Doctors would give the term Non- Ovulatory Amenorrhea. This made it extremely hard for them to conceive because she had no cycle, and was not ovulating either. Many times when a woman can't bear children she is not always given a reason why. Or the reason is vague like PCOS or Endometriosis. Many times when these are the reasons it is selective on who has troubles conceiving and who doesn't. In Katie's case their reason was very clear, but unfortunately the fix was not. So she continued to work with Dr's and trust God.
Meanwhile their Church was growing and the opportunity to be in the ministry came about. So Eric sold their business and they planned to go to North Carolina for 6 months of ministry training. Meanwhile, Katie was still seeing dr's and trying to conceive. She began to change her diet and exercise less. Introduce foods, she hadn't ate in years, to see if this would help. She was willing to give anything a try.
Katie's body began to change and her cycle returned and just before leaving for their ministry training, they received the exciting news that they were expecting! Trusting in God and following his plan, they continued with their plans to go to North Carolina for training. Eric returned a few weeks before Katie to prepare their house here for their baby. Katie returned and a few short weeks, their little Owen entered the world.
Their story is a story of hope. So many times in the bible we read about women, who are barren just trusted in God and he opened their womb. Katie, like these women, trusted in God, followed his calling and God opened her womb. It is always so humbling to hear these stories and to share them with you. Now they hold their perfectly beautiful son and their hearts are full. God doesn't always say yes or no, sometimes he says wait, and Owen was worth the wait.

Meet Baby Brecken {brevard County Newborn Photographer}
When I first started the blogging part of my business I will admit I didn't think I would like it. But then I learned this was my chance to tell a story with my photos. To share your story with the world! And let me tell you some of the stories are pretty amazing!!!
So back in May, I had the pleasure of working with the Roark family as they captured Megan's pregnancy and their last family portraits as a family of four. You can see that blog post here. They were anticipating the arrival of sweet Brecken.
Some say each one gets easier, I think for myself the next one will be more stressful. I feel my first pregnancy was like a "honeymoon" and then afterwards I really learned about all the things that could happen or scary stuff others have dealt with. My first I was just ecstatic to be pregnant I really didn't have time to think about anything but the joy.
Megan and Chris was so excited to have another baby, and then suddenly their world was changed. During routine visits, they began to notice some things with the baby. Megan was to follow up with specialist and the word abort was actually used several times!!! What? How is this even possible?! Fortunately, Megan has some really great friends in her life one being a dear friend of mine as well, Aran Hissam- founder of the Brianna Marie Foundation. Megan reached out to Aran to help calm her mind about all the information she was being told about her sweet baby growing in her belly. Aran, raises money through her organization to help with Fetal Medicine and advancements. That is raising money for babies in utero before they even take their first breath!! Amazing right!? With Aran's experience she was able to help Megan prepare for Dr. visits and ask the right questions to put her mind at ease and know exactly what was going on with her sweet baby.
At 18 weeks Brecken was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 also known as Down's Syndrome. Fortunately when he made his appearance into the world on May14th, 2017 weighing a healthy 8lbs 3oz and 20.5inches long; some of the other concerns and challenges were no longer concerns. He proved to be pretty healthy. He struggled with life outside the womb and eating so he ended up staying in the NICU for 38 days! He started with a feeding tube and then later had a G-tube added. His mama worked hard pumping round the clock to provide her sweet baby with the nutrients he needed most. He continued to progress and finally got to go home.
I got to snuggle with him at 7 weeks old! He was a whopping 11lbs by this point. I loved every inch of him too! He was so sweet and snugly. I am so glad I am able to provide these special memories for his mama to hold on to and cherish forever. Brecken continues to do great and growing stronger and stronger each day. While they still have some obstacles to deal with, he is a healthy baby! His brothers love him so much and I know they are itching to play in the dirt with him!
*** Most newborn sessions are held within the first two weeks of life...however your baby will not be refused for a session if they are older than this time frame. Baby Brecken was 7 weeks at his session and he posed just fine. Please don't let this hinder you from having newborn images of your sweet baby.

Meet Baby Cole {Brevard County Newborn Photographer}
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Baby Cole. He is welcomed into the world by his parents Ashley and Jim and his sweet big sister Avery. Avery was such a big girl and did so well for her shots with baby brother. A lot of times when you shoot young kids with a newborn they don't want anything to do with them and they actually can throw tantrums. Avery was a dream. She would give brother kisses and do just as we instructed her. She is going to be a great big sister.
Mom and Dad did awesome too. I mean after all they brought sweet Cole into this world. He is perfect in every single way. I am so happy their little family is doing great and this sweet boy completes it so well.
We were able to do family shots, sibling shots, a few beanbag poses and a couple prop shots. He loved being swaddled so we went with what he liked. Baby's safety and comfortableness is always my number one concern. I never try to risk a shot unless the baby gives me the ok. Look at these sweet images.
Have a little one on the way and want to document their newborn stage? I would love to chat with you. I provide all the supplies you just provide the sweet baby. Let's plan your little one's first modeling gig today!
