A little bit of country {Brevard Count Family Photographer}

Our last post shared how I had my family photos done by Dawn Geraghty photography, well she in turn had me take her family photos. Unlike me she enjoys doing this. She is great with coordinating outfits for her whole family, looking flawless with her hair and make up and makes it a fun session.

Beth, a friend and fellow photographer, has this beautiful piece of property in Mims, Fl that she allowed us to use. It was far better in person that her pictures could do justice. A red log cabin home, with a pond and gorgeous trees and amazing lighting. The setting was beautiful. It was like a taste of country right here in Brevard County. See for yourself.

My Family Photos

Do you ever buy something and wonder if the person who "invented it" or sells it actually uses it? Many times I come across things and wonder this exact thought. If they used it surely they would improve it. For instance BBQ sauce that I love comes in a glass flask like bottle. Looks cool on the shelf and for visual purposes but getting the BBQ sauce out is a whole 'nother story. The opening is too small, the BBQ sauce is thick and sticky and its glass so you can't squeeze it. Anyone else relate?

Well my point to all of this is I must practice what I preach. If I expect you to book sessions with me and hang prints form your wall, then I need to do the same. So Dawn Geraghty photography takes my photos every year. I am the worst client ever. I don't like my picture taken, I have a toddler who is wild, my husband really hates his picture being taken and coordinating my own outfits is a struggle. Do you relate? I am sure you do. But you know what? I need to be present in photos....good quality photos that are not a selfie blurred on my Iphone. So I book a session with a professional.

This helps me become a better photographer as I can relate to you more when I am also doing it and going through it. Plus I am able to shed light on how to handle that wild child, give you tips on not dressing them until you reach the session and encourage you to enjoy the moment while I capture your beautiful family in the moment.

And that is what Dawn did. I had small expectations (honestly) not because of her but because of me. Again I am a bad client. I really just wanted silhouettes so you didn't even see what we were wearing or our faces....is that bad? Well I am glad she didn't listen to me, because she got some amazing photos I was able to FINALLY create the gallery wall in my home. It also allowed me to be bold and get large images that I would've otherwise been scared to buy. (I bet you can relate to that too).

Next year, as I work alongside my clients ever more, this is going to be an option to help you do the same. (still working out the tweaks) But we are going to take the actual space in your home and show you want the images will look like right there. Takes the guess work out of buy and putting random holes in the wall. It helped me so much and look how amazing my wall looks now!

 These are the two designs I had to choose between. It was so much easier having it digital and then making changes. Helped me so much more!

Model Materntiy Session {Brevard County Maternity Photographer}

A few weeks ago while playing with my son at the local park I notice this flower in bloom. It was a tall grassy flower with pinkish purple fuzzy blooms. The golden sun was setting and they just radiate with beauty. My photographer's heart started to skip a beat. Surely my son wouldn't model for me and my iphone, I knew I needed my big camera and a pregnant model. So I casually posted a request on my personal FB page and Sheena responded. She was just about 36 weeks pregnant  so we need to act quick.

I am so glad she was willing to do this. The blooms are most likely gone by now but this images we captures were amazing.  Less than a week later her sweet baby girl came into the world. Guess it was perfect timing on our part!

Meet Baby Cohen {Brevard County Newborn Photographer}

A few months ago I had the pleasure of capturing Kristen's maternity session with her sweet boys and husband. We had a fun time on the beach. Well this time around, we added their newest addition, sweet baby Cohen.

Since I booked their session before having a studio, I went to their home for this session. It actually worked out better for their family dynamics. Dad is a pilot, baby was born before Thanksgiving and the two older boys are in school. So I came over just before school let out to capture sweet Cohen alone and then once the boys came home we got the family shots in.

Dad is a pilot and also was in the Marines. So he wanted a few shots with his jacket and helmet. I barrowed this really sweet plane prop from Dawn Geraghty photography to highlight dad's job.We had a great session and lots of precious memories were captured.

Brecken's 6 Month Milestone {Brevard County Children Photographer}

Brecken has been busy since I last seen him. He came to me for his newborn session after spending almost a month in the NICU. He had some challenges to overcome in the beginning but that has not stopped this big boy from growing big and strong.

At his 6 month milestone session, we met at my studio and did some family shots in the field across the way and then we moved indoors for Brecken to show off his skills. He has amazing head control and did awesome with tummy time. And let's talk about his smile! Boy does he smile with his whole face! I just love it. What a happy baby! Since he is part of the Baby Plan club I will be seeing him again for another milestone! Can't wait to see what his new tricks are going to be.

The nice thing about milestone session when you book the Baby plan is that you get to use them at your leisure. I suggest (after newborn) 3,6,9 and 12 month. Sometimes life gets busy and you want to postpone a session, no worries they don't expire. That's the beauty of this plan. If you are interested, please contact me. I would love to discuss.
